BRACO HALL COMMITTEE AND ADT ARE IN CONTINUING CONTACT WITH PERTH & KINROSS COUNCIL ABOUT THE FUTURE OF BRACO HALL. HOWEVER THE COUNCIL APPEARS UNWILLING TO CONTEMPLATE ANY CHANGE IN THE BUILDING'S OWNERSHIP - WHICH WOULD BE REQUIRED IF ADT WERE TO SEEK DEVELOPMENT FUNDING. THE POSITION AT THE MOMENT IS THAT THE HALL COMMITTEE, SUPPORTED BY ADT, HAS HAD SOME SUCCESS IN ENCOURAGING THE COUNCIL TO ADDRESS A NUMBER OF MAINTENANCE ISSUES. IN PARTICULAR A SCHEME TO MANAGE THE FLOODING OF THE BOILER ROOM HAS BEEN COMPLETED AT CONSIDERABLE EXPENSE.

SPRING 2012

Hall Development. ( FOR INFORMATION ONLY - REFER TO NOTE ABOVE)

A study into improving and extending Braco Hall has been commissioned and provisional findings are now available.

The findings are provisional because we await a formal response to the outline proposal from Perth & Kinross Council and also comparative figures for a significant refurbishment of the existing building. Both items will be incorporated into the report over the next few weeks.

The size of the document means that it is not possible to print a large number of copies.

To view the document click on the following:  Hall Provisional Report.  Drawings are also available: Proposed Ground Floor Plan Phase 2 and Proposed First Floor Plan Phase 2.

A hard copy will be available in the village hall and copies of the document will be available at Braco Show.

The various groups using the hall and the Community Council will be provided with a copy of the report.

A copy of the document will be sent to each primary school when they return in August.

Ardoch Development Trust would like to stress that this study forms part of a consultation process. We expect to hold a public meeting in late August or September to formally present the study.

The study has been funded by a grant to Ardoch Development Trust by Investing in Ideas (The Big Lottery Fund).
